TULCAS 2026 – About Budapest

The International Congress on Turkish Language, Culture, and Art (TULCAS 2026) will be held in Budapest, Hungary, on October 28–30, 2026.

Spanning both banks of the Danube, Budapest is one of Central Europe's distinctive capitals, renowned for its historic architecture, museums, cultural institutions, thermal baths, bridges, squares and vibrant urban life. Budapest at a Glance

Budapest, the capital of Hungary, stretches along the River Danube. The hilly western district of Buda, the flatter and livelier eastern district of Pest, and historic Óbuda were united in 1873 to form the modern city.

Buda is known for its castle district, historic streets, hills and panoramic viewpoints, while Pest is home to the Parliament Building, grand boulevards, squares, shopping areas, restaurants and many of the city's cultural venues.

Andrássy Avenue is one of Budapest's major cultural axes, lined with historic architecture, the Hungarian State Opera House and elegant urban spaces. At the far end are Heroes' Square, the Museum of Fine Arts and City Park.

Margitsziget – River Danube

Located in the Danube, Margaret Island offers walking paths, green spaces and a quieter atmosphere, making it a convenient option for participants seeking a short break from the busy city centre.

Budapest's Thermal Bath Culture

October in Budapest generally brings cool and changeable autumn weather. As TULCAS 2026 will take place near the end of the month, participants are advised to be prepared for variations in temperature throughout the day.

Recommended: Layered clothing, a water-resistant coat or jacket, comfortable walking shoes and a small umbrella may be useful. Participants are advised to check the latest Budapest weather forecast shortly before travelling.
